ABOUT US

Anthony Paparazzo founded Situate Chair Company in 2009.   He grew up spending summers in Scituate and as he got older he noticed his parents repairing or replacing their outdoor furniture year after year.   While studying Industrial Design at Wentworth Institute of Technology, he put his skills to use researching different materials and designing his own style.  Using a traditional shellback Adirondack chair as his inspiration, he designed and built dozens of prototypes until finally he came upon the Situate Chair; an Adirondack look with just enough style and grace for everyone to love. Now, 13 years later, that one chair has inspired a whole company and countless other designs.

STYLE

The style of the Situate Chair Company Collection evolved from the traditional Adirondack chair.  Our goal was to utilize the long-established look of the chair while keeping the design clean and simple.  We then formed elegant curves inspired by the architecture and landmarks of the coastline. The outcome is a style that is simple, yet elegant; a look that can be passed down for generations to come.

COMFORT

Comfort was one of the main considerations when designing our furniture.  Our chairs are designed to be ergonomic with curves that contour the body.  The smooth material and rolling front panels make it easy to slide in and out of. The wide arms help give our chair a sturdy stance and also provide a great place to rest a drink and plate. The engineering and attention to detail make our furniture a favorite to all.

DURABILITY

Situate Chairs are made from a recyclable, marine grade HDPE, the same material that has been used on boats for over 20 years. This material will not fade, swell, delaminate, or rot in any outdoor environment. We also use all stainless steel hardware.   Situate chairs are designed to withstand the harshest outdoor conditions; anything New England Weather will throw at them.

TESTIMONIALS

I purchased a couple adirondack chairs, a ten foot table and 10 chairs from Situate Chair Company. The quality (and value) could not be better and service was outstanding. Working with Anthony and team was easy peasy... I encourage anyone looking for a local craftsman who understands the beatings Scituate outdoor furniture takes, to look at Situate Chair FIRST; there will no need to look elsewhere.

Hi! I am sitting in one of your chairs at Lasell College as I watch my son’s soccer camp. This blue chair is amazing!!!!! I need one or four:) I am not local but would certainly come back to get these. They are literally the most comfortable outdoor chair I have ever sat in!! It blows ANY Adirondack chair out of the water. It’s depth, arm rests, wine rests :) and backing are all just perfect. Thanks for making such a quality chair. I do not want to get up.

We are fortunate to live on the ocean and over the years we have purchased different outdoor furniture with varying degrees of success. After one summer/fall of sun, salt, wind and rain even the most expensive outdoor furniture we have purchased began to fail. That all changed when we bought 2 Adirondack chairs from Anthony and the Situate Chair Company. After one summer and fall, the chairs still look like they were dropped off yesterday. The craftsmanship and material Anthony puts into each chair is second to none and they are by far the most comfortable outdoor chairs we have come across. We will be adding more Situate furniture to our outdoor area soon!

Situate Chair is a family business where everyone chips in! Erica is a teacher and helps during the summer, while you can often catch little Anthony on deliveries with dad. You've probably heard it takes a village to raise kids, it also takes a village to run a small business! We can't thank our family and our crew of a few seasonal employees enough!
